Collaborative Divorce is an alternative to the adversarial divorce process where professionals and the spouses or partners commit in writing to work together to help the couple reach a divorce settlement out of court which addresses the needs and interests of the couple and their family.

Dr. Grant-Hall is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in private practice for over twenty-five years doing therapy and conducting psychological evaluations for a wide range of reasons. She has worked with children and adolescents of all ages, adults, couples, and families and has never lost her passion for helping people better understand themselves so that they can make more positive, conscious life choices.

Dr. Grant-Hall has been involved in divorce work for most of her career through therapy and by doing custody and family related evaluations which often required collaboration with family attorneys. Her main impetus to work with divorcing couples and families was related to concerns regarding the often negative impact of divorce especially on children. Divorce is inevitably a painful experience, but the actual process can create even worse distress and long lasting problems for all involved.

Dr. Grant-Hall works as a Divorce Coach and Child Specialist to help create a collaborative and more positive divorce process. Collaborative divorce was developed to provide an opportunity for couples and families to divorce in a manner that is more respectful and healthy rather than the more traditional high conflict divorce. She is honored to be invited by couples and families to be part of this goal.

Dr. Grant-Hall received her B.A. from Colgate University and Ph.D. from Emory University. She has been trained in Collaborative Divorce and mediation. In addition, she is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), Connecticut Psychological Association (CPA), the International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), and the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation and Collaborative Practice (CCDM) as well as several local collaborative practice groups.
