Collaborative Divorce is an alternative to the adversarial divorce process where professionals and the spouses or partners commit in writing to work together to help the couple reach a divorce settlement out of court which addresses the needs and interests of the couple and their family.

Ilene is a licensed clinical psychologist who co-owns a group psychotherapy practice, Bunk, Grueneberg & Associates, LLC, in Glastonbury, CT. She has been in practice for 25 years and sees children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Along with addressing a wide range of presenting issues, Ilene has a specialty area working with foster and adoptive families who are dealing with early trauma and attachment disruptions. Ilene provides direct service to these families and she has been a consultant and trainer to Department of Children and Families and other foster/adoption agencies. She has worked extensively with social work staff and foster parents in these agencies.

Ilene has also participated in several divorce mediations. She has helped couples negotiate preliminary agreements in her practice as well as volunteering in area courts. Ilene has worked in both the high conflict divorce resolution program in Middletown Courts as well as the early intervention mediation program in the Hartford Courts. She has also worked collaboratively with attorneys to facilitate nonadversarial divorce agreements.

Ilene has been CT Psychological Association Convention Committee Chair for 13 years and is the President of the Board of Directors for Creative Arts for Developing Minds, a nonprofit group providing arts education to foster children. She also volunteers on fundraising committee for TriCounty ARC.
