Attorney Buttler has practiced in the Farmington Valley Area of Connecticut since 1994. She has practiced in a variety of civil litigation however now she focuses on Family Law resolving disputes such as divorce, custody, support and property. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester and the University of Connecticut School of Law with honors. She maintains offices in Farmington and Granby for the convenience of her clients.

Attorney Buttler believes that one of the most important decisions facing individuals after they have decided that their marriage or relationship is over involves choosing the model best suited for them to resolve their issues. She offers various methods from which her clients may choose to bring their cases to a conclusion including litigation, mediation and Collaborative Divorce. Each client’s choice will depend upon the issues that they face, their personality and the personality of their partner and their financial reserves. Attorney Buttler provides them information and advice from which they can make an educated choice.

If the client decides that Collaborative Divorce is the best possible manner in which to proceed, the client can be confident that Attorney Buttler has received over 100 hours of training since first incorporating Collaborative Divorce in her practice nearly ten years ago. She recognizes that her role includes providing an atmosphere of respect, privacy and negotiation which is fair and reasonable to everyone involved while still remaining an advocate for her client’s needs. She has the ability to bring in other experts such as the very competent coaches and financial advisors included in this site to help the entire family cope with the effects of the dissolving of the marriage.

Attorney Buttler is a member of the Connecticut Council for Divorce Mediation, the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group, and the International Academy of Collaborative Professions. She currently acts as the co-chair of the Hartford County Bar Family committee. She serves as a Special Master in the New Britain and Hartford Courts.
